Bandager jaw fracture
Simple bintovaya (or scarf) parieto-chin bandage. The packs for fractures of the upper and lower jaws. It uses a wide gauze bandage, circular tours that pass through the chin and the parietal bone, bypassing the ears alternately front and rear. Can be used for this purpose mesh sleeve, shawl or a scarf, but it's much worse because it does not provide the necessary rigidity. Apply elastic bandage and superimposing it without tension. Unlike gauze bandage, he does not stretch over 1-2 hours and does not weaken the dressing. Simple fixing bandage loosely retained on the head and often self-tottering on the forehead or neck.

Parieto-chin bandage Hippocrates, on the contrary, it is reliably fixed on the head and does not require correction for several days. Its use in fractures of the upper and lower jaws. Roll bandages make one or two horizontal tour around the head in the fronto-occipital plane, necessarily below the occipital protuberance. On the back of the neck tour goes on the chin, and then impose a number of vertical rounds without much pressure in the parieto-chin plane, bypassing the ears alternately front and rear. Then on the back of the neck the next round of transfer on the head and put two more horizontal round in the fronto-occipital plane. The first horizontal tours in the fronto-occipital plane creates rough surface for the vertical tours, and the last tour perpetuate vertical tours, preventing them from slipping (Figure 5.1).

This dressing can stay a week. The end of the last round is best to consolidate the plaster, but you can break the bandage along the ends and tie on his forehead, so that the node is not crushed when placing the head on the pillow.

Note: superimposed with mandibular fractures bandage should not be tight, as in this case it may help to offset fragments, difficulty breathing and even asphyxia. Therefore bandage for the lower jaw should be only supportive.
At the turn of the upper jaw impose stiff bandage that prevents further injury of the brain, its membranes and helps to reduce liquorrhea

Standard soft chin sling Pomerantseva-Urban. Its use in fractures of the upper and lower jaws. Sling consists of a cloth chin pads, to which both sides are sewn large erasers, running into a cloth tape with holes for the strap. Carrying Strap connects the ends of the sling and serves to regulate its length in accordance with the size of the patient's head (Fig. 5.2).

The dressing is simple and convenient, and after washing can be reused.

Do not use this patch with toothless jaws and lack of dentures.
Standard bandage for transport immobilization - rigid chin sling, used for fractures of the lower and upper jaws. It consists of the standard dimensionless hats (the bandage) and the chin with the tongue-shaped rigid sling lugs and slots used to secure the rubber rings and the language of the victim, as well as for the outflow of the wound contents. Cap has a loop for fixation of long rubber rings, made of rubber tubing.

To prevent compression of soft tissues in the pockets of available under the loops injected padded rollers (Fig. 5.3).

Riding Hood put on his head and with ribbons regulate the length of its circumference to fit your head through their pull-ups and subsequent tying a knot on the forehead of the victim.

If a cap is great depth, then enclose in a special cotton pocket, located in the parietal part of the cap. Sling filled with cotton-gauze lining of the hygroscopic material, acting outside the sling, and placed under a broken jaw. Rubber rings worn on the tongue-shaped protrusions sling and gently press the teeth of the lower jaw to the upper teeth, fixing fragments.

Avoid the displacement of the lower jaw fragments and threatening asphyxia soft and rigid sling should only hold the jaw fragments from further displacement during transportation.

When installed fractures of the upper jaw thrust should increase the elastic element to bias the jaw upward.

Articles for theme "fracture of the jaw":
Double fracture of the lateral part of the body of the mandible on one side
05-09-2009
Such change is possible in the place of application of force, when the blow suffered by the lateral division. It should be remembered that at a greater distance between the lines of fracture displacement of the fragments with unilateral double fracture more pronounced. The most significant is the case when the fracture line runs in the chin department and in the molars. In this case, there are three fragments of different sizes. Big is half of the lower jaw with the uninjured side, the second largest - the angle and the branch on the side of the jaw fracture and the third (smaller) - the average otlomok.
Bilateral fracture of the lateral part of the body of the mandible

Character displacement of fragments is largely determined by the location of the fracture plane and the direction of its slant, depending on the direction and force of impact. In the case of passing the fracture line between the premolar vertically relative to the sagittal axis of the central otlomok could significantly down-down and shift backwards, bend over the alveolar part of the forward and lateral fragments may climb up. Alveolar part of their turns inward, and the base body of the mandible - outwards.
Condylar fracture processes with one body and jaw - from the opposite side
05-09-2009
This combination occurs quite often. This results in three fragments: condylar processus on the one hand, the body of the mandible and the branch - on the other, and the average - a branch of a broken jaw condylar process and the body of the mandible.  Clinically prevalent signs of a fracture of the body of the jaw, and therefore its definition is not difficult. It therefore can not be promptly diagnosed condylar fracture of the appendix from the opposite side. It is connected with the fact that the violation of bite, so typical of the condylar fracture of the process, is not observed.
Double, dustoronnie, multiple fractures of the mandible
05-09-2009
Bilateral fracture of the mandible fracture means two different halves of it. Double fracture of the mandible - were two fractures on one half of the jaw. Multiple fracture of the mandible - a combination of bilateral and double its fractures.  Bilateral condylar fracture of the appendix occurs most frequently when struck on the chin from front to back. In addition to the complaints listed above, with a bilateral fracture patients report pain trestle in front of the ear on both sides. They can not bite the food front teeth.
Condylar fracture sprouts
05-09-2009
Damage condylar sprouts in second place in the structure of mandibular fractures. This is due to the fact that when struck on the chin from front to back is broken neck mandibular condylar sprouts, and in case of application of force to the lateral parts of the body, the branches or the chin to the most vulnerable is the base condylar sprouts, along with the angle of the mandible. The mechanism of fracture and in fact and in another case - the bend. Should be recalled that near the base of the appendix condylar cross-sectional area of bone in the lateral (naruzhnovnutrennem) direction is much less than in the anteroposterior.
